More than four years experience in the media industry with a concentration on production and editing for print and Web publishing. Proficient in AP style writing and editing, and with all media editing software. Specializes in Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Adobe PageMaker, Macromedia Dreamweaver, all MS Office applications, and networking for Macintosh as well as PC platforms. Worked with a small staff to produce a 48-56 page tabloid which covered eight local towns. Created traffic cycle for all copy and press releases to be edited and published. Wrote 4-5 hard news, sports, human interest, A&E and community stories per week. Also wrote obituaries, births, and wedding/engagement announcements along with community calendars. Took photos and created charts for art filler. Wrote all headlines and cutlines. Laid out entire tabloid, minus ads, before completing the final edit.

Prepared copy from The Record and The Herald News to be published on the Web. Worked with various departments of The Record to create and maintain special sections, photo galleries, real-time election results, and streaming media.

Responsible for maintaining the A&E and Living sections of this weekly local broadsheet, in addition to coverage of the Cedar Grove Board of Education beat. Duties included writing news and entertainment stories, as well as preparing wedding and engagement announcements. Also maintained the community and entertainment calendars, and laid out sections using dummy sheets for pagination.
